Scumbag raids war hero’s home, steals prized military medals in Aldershot
Heartless thief has struck in Aldershot, making off with a war hero’s precious military medals. The burglary happened sometime between 6pm on July 19 and 8.20pm on July 25 at a house on Gallwey Road.
War hero’s 40 years of service medals stolen
The crook didn’t just nab any old trinkets – they stole medals representing the victim’s four decades of service in the armed forces. Among the haul were a Kuwait Medal with a bar and the 1 medal. But that’s not all.
Unique “Iraqi Freedom” folding knife also taken
Alongside the medals, a distinctive three-inch folding knife with a brown wooden handle inscribed with “Iraqi Freedom” was stolen. It’s a sentimental piece, as PC Jade Rudd explained:
“These items obviously hold great sentimental value to the victim and his family, and we are keen to speak to anyone who might have come across similar items recently.”
Police urge witnesses to come forward
Despite limited images, officers have released photos of the medals hoping someone will recognise them. PC Rudd added:
“If you have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area between these dates then please get in touch. Your information could help us reunite this victim with his medals.”
Anyone with information is urged to call 101 quoting reference number 44180281993.
