Surrey County Council has named Claire Edgar as their new Executive Director for Adults, Wellbeing and Health Partnerships (AWHP). Currently southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton City Council’s Executive Director of Community Wellbeing, Claire will join Surrey later this year after a tough recruitment battle.

Decades of Experience Fighting for Vulnerable Adults

A qualified social worker, Claire brings over 20 years of frontline experience in local government and social care. She’ll take on statutory responsibility for Adult Social Care – a vital role in supporting Surrey’s most vulnerable residents.

Interim Chief Executive Michael Coughlin hailed Claire as “an outstanding appointment who will bring the leadership, focus and commitment this crucial role needs.” He added, “Supporting our vulnerable residents is the bedrock of what we do – Claire’s passion and track record make her the perfect fit.”
