Surrey’s bravest took centre stage as 59 firefighters and civilians bagged top honours at the annual Surrey Fire and Rescue Service Awards night.
Bravery and Service Celebrated in Style
The glitzy ceremony, held on Tuesday 21 October at Dorking Halls, recognised stellar career milestones and jaw-dropping acts of courage. From rookies clocking five years to veterans hitting a whopping 45, the night honoured life-saving heroics and professional excellence.
One public hero caught the spotlight after alerting a family to a flat fire, preventing the blaze from spreading and saving lives.
Top Brass Laud Firefighters and Community Heroes
Chief Fire Officer Dan Quin said: “This event is a highlight in our calendar where we celebrate the outstanding dedication of our colleagues and community members who keep Surrey safer. Congratulations to all our award winners, and thanks to friends and family for their support.”
Awards weren’t just handed out by Dan Quin. Deputy Lord Lieutenant Andrew Latham KStj, High Sheriff Peter Cluff, Surrey County Council Vice-Chair Bernie Muir, and Fire & Rescue Cabinet Member Kevin Deanus also took to the stage to recognise the heroes.
