Teen Girl Seriously Injured in Horror Crash on Portsmouth’s Copnor Road
A 15-year-old girl was left with serious injuries after being hit in a collision on Copnor Road, Portsmouth, Monday evening. Emergency services swooped on the scene shortly after 6:20 pm, sparking chaos in the area.
Smash Near Pedestrian Crossing Sparks Emergency Response
The smash happened close to the junctions with Amberley Road and Larkhall Road, near traffic lights and a pedestrian crossing. Witnesses say police cars and ambulances flooded the scene fast.
Hampshire Police confirmed the girl was struck by a blue DS 4 Crossback. She sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital for urgent treatment.
Air Ambulance Touches Down at Alexandra Park
An air ambulance helicopter landed nearby at Alexandra Park. A spokesperson explained:
“Two doctors and a specialist paramedic arrived by helicopter, with another paramedic travelling by car. After on-the-spot treatment, the girl was taken to hospital by road ambulance, accompanied by the air ambulance team.”
Copnor Road Partially Closed – Police Seek Dashcam Footage
Copnor Road was temporarily shut while officers surveyed the scene and collected evidence. Delays hit local traffic as emergency crews worked.
