Man in Distress Brings A27 to a Standstill
Drama unfolded near the A27 at Coldean Lane and Ditchling Rise in Hollinbury just before 2pm today. Sussex Police were called to a man in distress by the bridge, shutting down both eastbound and westbound lanes.
Two Hours of Tense Negotiations
Officers spent two intense hours talking the man down. Thankfully, he was safely brought down, and the roads were reopened shortly after.
Traffic Chaos and Thanks to Drivers
The closures sparked some traffic disruption in the area. Sussex Police thanked drivers for their patience during the incident.
“We’d like to express our gratitude to drivers for their patience while we worked to resolve the incident,” a Sussex Police spokeswoman said.
