Blaze Hits Hounslow Takeaway: 40 Firefighters Battle Blaze
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters raced to a takeaway restaurant on Vicarage Farm Road in Hounslow West this morning (May 5) after a major fire broke out.
Ground Floor Devastated; No Injuries Thanks to Luck
The fire gutted most of the ground floor of the three-storey terraced building, which houses the takeaway below flats. Shockingly, there were no smoke alarms installed in the property. Despite this, no one was injured in the blaze.
Fire Brigade Warns: Fit Smoke Alarms or Pay the Price
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson hammered home the crucial message: “This incident is a stark reminder of how vital working smoke alarms are. They give the earliest warning when fire breaks out. We urge everyone to fit smoke alarms in every room where a fire could start and a heat alarm in the kitchen. Test them regularly.”
How It Happened and What’s Next?
The Brigade was called out at 12:47am, bringing the fire under control by 2:39pm. Crews from Feltham, Heston, Hayes, Southall, and Northolt rushed to the scene.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Authorities urge residents to stay vigilant and keep their homes safe.
