Maidstone to Sparkle with Magic of Christmas on 24 November

Maidstone Borough Council and One Maidstone (BID) are teaming up to sprinkle Christmas fairy dust across the town centre on Thursday, 24 November. Get ready for a festive feast of street performances that’ll dazzle residents, shoppers, and local businesses alike.

Santa, Stilt Walkers, and Spectacular Acts

The streets will burst with holiday cheer thanks to a colourful lineup of performers. From Santa himself to eye-catching LED Skating Baubles, Clockwork Ballerinas, and Candy Cane Stilt Walkers, there’s something for everyone. Kids can meet Santa on his sleigh with his reindeer, snap a photo (first come, first served between 4-6pm at Lockmeadow), and even post a letter to Lapland using the giant post-box — officially launched by Mayor Cllr Derek Mortimer at 3.45pm.

Free Family Fun and Surprise Guests

The post-box launch kicks off an afternoon packed with free entertainment. Enjoy music, theatre, and community group performances, plus some dazzling LED drummers. Keep your eyes peeled for a cheeky “green” visitor causing a bit of festive mayhem across town!

Grand Christmas Parade and Finale

The festivities climax with Maidstone’s magical Christmas walking parade. Starting at Brenchley Gardens at 6.30pm, it will wind through Fremlin Walk, Week Street, The Mall, and end at Jubilee Square outside the Town Hall. The LED drummers will close the night with a spectacular grand finale performance.

The Magic of Christmas event is funded by a £21,068 grant from the UK Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund. It’s free to attend, full of festive fun, and promises to kickstart the holiday season in style.
