As of 10th November 2022, 419 hotels have temporarily housed thousands of asylum seekers and Afghans arriving under resettlement schemes. But the real number is believed to be even higher, with more locations involved behind the scenes.

Boat Arrivals and Tunnel Crossings Surge

This year alone, over 42,000 illegal immigrants have landed by boat. Others have found their way across the Channel via the Eurotunnel or hidden inside lorries, vans, and cars. Yet, the Home Office admits it has no data on arrivals through the Eurotunnel, leaving a gap in the official figures.
