Blaze Rips Through Portacabins at Lomas Road
Fire crews rushed to a raging fire that had engulfed multiple containers being used as portacabins by contractors. The flames spread quickly, but firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control using two breathing apparatus, two hose reels, and two jets.
Smoke Fans Help Cut Through Thick Smoke
A high-pressure fan was deployed to clear the choking smoke from the portacabins, helping crews to work more effectively inside the smoky environment.
Fire Started in Wood Pile, Destroyed Part of Portacabins
- Kent and Rescue Fire teams tackled the fire believed to have started in a pile of wood.
- Flames spread beneath the portacabin on Lomas Road, causing extensive damage.
- Two fire engines from Sittingbourne and Ramsgate were on scene by 2 p.m. on July 14, 2022.
- The blaze destroyed a section of the portacabins but, thankfully, no injuries were reported.
