A semi-detached house caught fire on its roof, but thankfully, no one was hurt.
Firefighters Battle Blaze in Scorching Conditions
Station commander Graham Adams praised the crews, saying, “They worked extremely hard in extremely hot and arduous conditions.”
Firefighters used a 32-metre ladder to douse the flames from above and keep a close watch on the situation.
Road Closures in Place, Firefighters Stay On Scene
Crews remained at the scene all afternoon to dampen down hotspots. Some local roads stayed closed, and motorists were urged to avoid the area if possible.
London Fire Brigade Responds Swiftly
- The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers handled eight emergency calls about the fire.
- The alarm was raised at 1.13pm, and the fire was fully extinguished by 3.19pm.
- Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters from Southall, Northolt, Hillingdon, and Heston stations tackled the blaze.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
