A ceiling dramatically collapsed on the second floor of Rosemead Prep School this morning, sparking chaos and panic among pupils and staff.
15-20 Treated On Spot; Several Kids Rushed to Hospital
Emergency crews treated 15 to 20 people for minor injuries at the scene. Several children were taken to hospital by ambulance, but thankfully no serious injuries have been reported. All other pupils and staff were safely evacuated without incident.
Firefighters Confirm Building Clear, USAR Team Steps In
Firefighters from West Norwood and Brixton fire stations swiftly carried out a thorough search to ensure no one was trapped. They confirmed all children and staff were accounted for. A specialist Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team was brought in with high-tech gear to inspect the building and ruled out any further risk of collapse.
