A major commuter route in Guildford is at a standstill after a three-vehicle crash slammed the A323 Aldershot Road. The collision, involving a Ford Transit van and two private cars, has blocked the road both ways near the junction with Frog Green Lane and Cobbett Hill Road.

The smash happened just after 6pm on Friday evening, causing heavy delays. Traffic is now backed up to Fairlands Roundabout, where police have also set up a second closure. Officers are on scene directing frustrated drivers away from the gridlock.

Damage from the crash left two vehicles’ front wheels shredded, leaking oil all over the road surface and forcing extra caution.

Casualties Taken to Hospital, Injuries Not Thought Serious

“A number of people have been taken to hospital by St John’s Ambulance,” police confirmed. “Their injuries do not appear to be serious.”
