Two Children Killed in Horror M1 Crash Near Milton Keynes
Tragedy on the M1
Two young children, aged 4 and 10, have died following a fatal collision on the M1 northbound between junctions 14 and 15 near Milton Keynes. The smash happened around 11.10pm on August 9th and involved a white Vauxhall Astra and a Scania HGV lorry.
Grim Aftermath
The children were passengers in the Astra. Their next of kin have been informed, and specially trained officers are supporting the devastated family. Another child passenger and the Astra’s driver were hospitalised but have since been discharged. The HGV driver escaped injury.
Arrest Made Over Deadly Crash
A 35-year-old woman from Derby has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving over the legal alcohol limit. She remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
“My thoughts remain with the family of the two children who sadly died at this extremely difficult time,” said Sgt Dominic Mahon from Thames Valley Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
“We’re appealing to anyone who saw the crash or has dash-cam footage of the incident or the vehicles involved to get in touch immediately.”
