Police closed the M40 between junctions 2 (Beaconsfield) and 4 for hours, causing severe traffic delays and congestion stretching back before J2. Police Probe Possible Distraction, Seek Witnesses
Thames Valley Police are investigating the cause, having recovered a mobile phone from the wreck but have not yet confirmed if it played a role in the crash. PC Richard Martin said:
“Our thoughts are with the families and friends of the two men who died today. At this stage, we do not believe another vehicle was involved. We urge anyone who saw the silver van before or during the crash to get in touch.”
