Blaze Breaks Out Near Birchington After Bonfire Blunder
Kent Fire and Rescue raced to tackle a field fire near St Nicholas At Wade in Birchington. Two fire engines and an all-terrain vehicle arrived to find grassland and scrubland ablaze.
Quick Action Prevents Spread
Firefighters battled the flames using flexi-packs and beaters, successfully extinguishing the fire. It was caused by an unintentional spread from a nearby bonfire.
