Portsmouth Firefighters Smash £5k After Carrying Ladder 13 Miles!

Portsmouth firefighters proved their grit yesterday by hauling a massive 10.5-metre ladder over 13 miles from Horndean to Gunwharf Quays. All in full kit, the tough team tackled this marathon trek to raise vital cash for Football For Cancer (FFC) and The Fire Fighters Charity.

£5,000 Raised for Charity

Bucket collections pulled in an impressive £2,394 on the day. Barclays UK matched this amount, pushing the total haul to a smashing £4,788. The event kicked off at 10am from the local fire station, with the crew cheered on by residents all along the way.

Thirty brave souls took part in the challenge, each showing incredible stamina and dedication. Their 13-mile march in full fire gear wasn’t just a test of strength but a powerful statement supporting cancer charities close to their hearts.
