Man in Serious Condition After Van Crashes Into Wall in Preston
A man is fighting for his life after his Peugeot Bipper van careered off New Hall Lane in Preston and smashed into a wall.
Medical Episode Suspected Behind Crash
The accident happened around midday on May 18 near the junction with Morington Road. The van driver, a Preston man in his 50s, is believed to have suffered a medical episode before losing control of the vehicle.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene after the van veered off the carriageway while heading towards the M6. The driver was rushed to hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.
Road Shut for Hours; Police Seek Witnesses
New Hall Lane was closed for nearly three hours during the emergency response and investigations.
“A man is in a poorly condition following this collision and I would appeal for any witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch,” said Sgt Finn Quainton of 1 Constabulary’s Tac Ops.
