Tragic Death After Carshalton House Fire
A woman has died following a devastating house fire in Carshalton. Firefighters rushed to the scene on Pipewell Road just before 10:50am on September 19, battling flames that engulfed half of the ground floor of an end-terraced home.
Heroic Rescue Amid Blazing Inferno
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Wembley, Park Royal, Willesden, and Southall fire stations were deployed. Wearing breathing apparatus, crew members entered the smoke-filled property and bravely rescued the woman from the blaze. She was swiftly taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service, but her condition was unclear at the time.
Firefighting Effort and Investigation Underway
The London Fire Brigade confirmed on September 20 that the woman died in hospital. Fire crews from Mitcham, Sutton, Wimbledon, and Twickenham attended, and the operation wrapped up shortly after 11:20am. Both the London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police are now investigating the cause of the fire.
“Sadly, a woman has died following a house fire on Pipewell Road in Carshalton,” said a London Fire Brigade spokesperson.
