Woman Battles for Life After Cliff Fall Near South Foreland Lighthouse

A woman is fighting for her life after a terrifying fall from the cliffs near South Foreland Lighthouse in Kent. The dramatic rescue unfolded on Friday afternoon when emergency crews rushed to the scene following reports of the fall.

Massive Rescue Effort Launched

The Coastguard was alerted around 3:30pm and swiftly deployed a rescue helicopter. Lifeboat teams from Dover, plus Coastguard crews from Deal and Langdon, joined the frantic operation. Specialist Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), air ambulance doctors and paramedics also raced to the rugged coastline to help.

The woman was airlifted from the cliff face and is currently receiving urgent medical treatment. Authorities have yet to release further details on her condition but confirm the situation remains critical.

Kent Police Investigate

Kent Police have been informed and are investigating the incident. The dramatic cliffs at South Foreland are known for their natural beauty but also pose deadly hazards, leading to several rescues in recent years.

Emergency Teams Work Together

A tense handover of medics took place on the helicopter landing pad at the Coastguard Operations Centre in Dover. Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance crews joined forces with coastguard teams to manage the complex rescue.
