UK Launches Power Network for Firms in Greater Los Angeles
The British Consulate General in Los Angeles has unveiled the UK Investor Network Southern California (UK IN SoCal), a new initiative to boost UK businesses across greater Los Angeles.

The launch coincides with the latest UK Foreign Direct Investment in California report. It reveals over 2,300 British companies operate in California, supporting nearly 100,000 jobs. More than half of these jobs—around 52,500—are right here in the five-county greater Los Angeles area.
What UK IN SoCal Offers
UK IN SoCal aims to supercharge UK companies’ growth by:
- Facilitating introductions, networking, and partnerships
- Providing mentorship and soft-landing support for newcomers
- Sharing key insights on doing business in the US
- Raising the profile of British businesses in LA
The network will also host year-round events to spark connections and offer expert advice on US market challenges. Mentors include big names like Pearson CEO Andy Bird and firms specialising in international expansion such as Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, HSBC, and RSM.

UK IN SoCal members gain access to special offers and links to local bodies eager to collaborate, including governments and Chambers of Commerce. A key partner is workspace giant WeWork, offering tailored deals to help UK firms settle in fast.
