BMW Motorrad Motorsport Fires Up for 2024 Endurance World Championship

The countdown to the 2024 FIM Endurance World Championship (FIM EWC) is well underway, with BMW Motorrad Motorsport heating up at the legendary Le Mans circuit. Teams spent this week battling through a crucial two-day Pre-Test, tweaking bikes and tactics ahead of the season’s explosive kick-off from April 18th to 21st, highlighted by the heart-pounding 24 Heures Motos race.

BMW’s Star-Studded Lineup Gears Up for Glory

The mighty BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team is locked and loaded for podium finishes and championship glory in the top-tier Formula EWC class. Their secret weapon? The dynamic trio of Markus Reiterberger (GER), Ilya Mikhalchik (UKR), and new signing Sylvain Guintoli (FRA). During Pre-Test sessions, their #37 BMW M 1000 RR motorcycle underwent precise fine-tuning to ensure peak performance all season long.

Superstock Teams Ready to Make Noise

On the Superstock frontline, Tecmas-MRP-BMW Racing Team returns for a second crack at the title. Riders Kenny Foray (FRA), Jan Bühn (GER), and Loïc Arbel (FRA) will share riding duties on the #9 BMW M 1000 RR. Fresh off the bench is Hannes Soomer, BMW’s newest recruit, stepping in as a vital fourth rider for both teams.

Also flexing their muscle during the Pre-Test were two more BMW Superstock contenders: Japan’s Team Etoile with their #25 BMW M 1000 RR, and France’s Team T2C Racing sporting the number 2. Both sides showed serious promise ahead of the big races.

Team Boss and Riders Confident Ahead of Le Mans

“In the end, I think we can be very happy,” said Werner Daemen, BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team Manager. “We know what to do for race week. Not everything was perfect, but it looks like we have found a good way. All three riders did a very good job, and I have a good feeling about the upcoming race in two weeks.”

Star rider Sylvain Guintoli added, “It was a positive test. We got a lot of work done and experienced varying conditions, from wet to dry and back to rain. Our preparations are on track, and I’m confident in our performance.”

With engines revving and adrenaline high, the 2024 FIM EWC season opener at Le Mans promises blistering speed and fierce rivalries. Stay tuned as BMW and their rivals battle for supremacy on one of the world’s most iconic race tracks.
