Russia’s Massive Missile Barrage Injures 14 Across Ukraine

Russia launched a devastating missile strike across multiple Ukrainian regions, injuring at least 14 people and sparking fires and widespread damage. Civilian infrastructure took the brunt of the assault, signalling a troubling escalation in the ongoing war.

Kyiv Targeted: Over 20 Cruise Missiles Fired

The Ukrainian General Staff confirmed the early Thursday attacks, accusing Russian forces of a “massive missile attack on civilian infrastructure” across the country.

In the capital Kyiv, missile debris scattered, sparking fires and damaging non-residential buildings in eastern districts. Sergiy Popko, head of Kyiv’s military administration, revealed that Russia fired more than 20 cruise missiles overnight. He explained, “Cruise missiles of the X-101/555/55 types were launched from about 10 Tu-95MS strategic bombers.”

Thanks to Ukraine’s air defence, numerous missiles were shot down, but falling debris still caused damage across several parts of the city.

Multiple Regions Hit, Civilian Casualties Mount

Missile attacks were also reported in Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskiy, Rivne, Vinnytsia, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk.

  • Kharkiv: At least six explosions rocked the Slobidskyi district, damaging civilian infrastructure and sending two people to hospital, confirmed Governor Oleh Syniehubov.
  • Cherkasy: Seven injured with one rescued from rubble, Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said.
  • Lviv: An industrial zone took a direct hit, causing building damage and fires. No casualty details have yet emerged.
  • Rivne: Air strikes hit the city, with Governor Vitalii Koval reporting the attack but with limited damage info so far.

War’s Toll on Civilians Rises Amid Ongoing Strikes

The relentless barrage marks a grim escalation with Russia focusing on civilian zones. The Ukrainian military continues its efforts to down incoming missiles, but the devastation and casualties are mounting.

As the conflict intensifies, international eyes stay fixed on Ukraine, fearing further suffering and destruction.
