Onana Owns Up After Manchester United’s Heartbreaking Bayern Loss

Manchester United’s keeper Andre Onana has taken the rap for their nail-biting 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich in Germany. The Cameroonian ace admitted his early blunder handed Bayern the lead, a mistake that haunted United throughout the frantic match.

Despite a strong start from Man Utd, Onana’s error gave Bayern the opening goal before they doubled their advantage. United fought tooth and nail, scoring three times, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide.

“This is the life of a goalkeeper. It’s difficult. We started very good. After my mistake, we 1 control of the game. It’s a difficult situation for us, for me especially because I’m the one who let the team down,” Onana told TNT Sports.

The keeper continued, “We were very good on the ball, they didn’t create any chances, their first shot on target I made a mistake. It was the key point, and the team went down because of that mistake. If we didn’t win today, it was because of me. I have to learn from it and be strong. I have a lot to prove. My start in Manchester hasn’t been so good, not how I want. This was one of my worst games.”

Onana’s honesty highlights just how much pressure goalies face in top-level football when every single error can be costly.

Spanish Football Federation Ousts General Secretary After World Cup Scandal

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has axed its general secretary Andreu Camps in the wake of the Women’s World Cup final controversy, issuing an apology to the players and fans.

The RFEF promised “profound changes” after the scandal that unfolded when former president Luis Rubiales infamously kissed forward Jenni Hermoso post-victory over England on August 20. The incident sparked a player boycott that rocked Spanish football.

After the players lifted the boycott, the RFEF swiftly removed Camps and apologised for putting the team through “unwanted circumstances.” A direct apology was given to Hermoso, recognising she had “not created” the situation.

The federation now aims to rebuild trust and create a respectful, inclusive environment in Spanish football.
