UK Boosts Green Skills and Women in STEM in Mexico
The UK’s Skills for Prosperity Programme (SFPMX) is shaking up Mexico’s green industries and pushing for better representation of women in STEM careers.
Mexico Faces Green Skills Shortage
Mexico’s booming labour market is starved of green skills vital for sustainable, eco-friendly growth. A recent LinkedIn global report reveals the country can’t meet demand for workers with expertise in green tech.
In response, 123 providers are teaming up with employers to create sharp job placement strategies for students. Training includes CV crafting, interview prep, job searching techniques, and direct chats about careers with leading businesses linked to the programme.
Closing Employment Gaps and Boosting Careers
This collaboration between employers and educational institutions is slashing employment gaps in green technology. It’s also lifting career prospects and wages for both women and men, many from vulnerable communities.
Though the programme wraps up in March 2023, it leaves behind a powerful legacy of upskilled teachers ready to drive quality technical education forward. The result? A stronger focus on industry needs, women in STEM, and environmental sustainability.
