Lewisham Memorial Defaced with Offensive Graffiti

Shameful graffiti was found daubed on the Lewisham High Street memorial on Monday, 13 November.

Vandals Strike Between Sunday and Monday Morning

The damage happened sometime between midday on Sunday, 12 November, and 9am on Monday. Thankfully, the local council has already wiped the offensive marks clean.

Police Hunt for Perpetrators

PC Andrew Dobson, leading the investigation, slammed the act:

“Criminal damage and offensive comments of this nature are completely unacceptable. Our team is doing all we can to track down those responsible.”

“Incidents like this spark huge concern in our communities. We will be relentless in catching the culprits who commit these offences.”

“We urge anyone who was in the area on Sunday night or early Monday to come forward if they saw anything suspicious.”
