Two More Arrests Made in Child Sex Abuse Probe
Police swooped in Heald Green and Chorlton-cum-Hardy, arresting a 52-year-old man linked to historical child sexual abuse. The Operation Green Jacket crackdown continues to crack serious crimes from the early 2000s.
Dedicated Team Targets Child Abusers
The arrests were made by Greater Manchester Police’s Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) Team, with help from the Tactical Aid Unit (TAU). The force is laser-focused on bringing those guilty of abusing girls under 16 to justice.
Operation Green Jacket Uncovers Decades-Old Crimes
Under the code name Operation Cheetah, this painstaking investigation targets offences committed between 2002 and 2005. Detective Sergeant Simon France praised the team’s efforts and the bravery of the victims.
“Although 20 years have passed since the offences, our team are dedicated to ensuring that victims of this kind of horrific abuse are seen and heard,” said DS France.
“We commend the bravery of these young girls, now grown with their own lives, who have come forward to help build a successful case.”
