Thailand and Montenegro Slammed Onto UK Red List
The UK government has thrown a travel spanner in the works by slapping Thailand and Montenegro onto its dreaded “red list.” From 4am on Monday 30 August 2021, foreign nationals from these countries are banned from entering England. British and Irish travellers returning from there must quarantine in a hotel for 10 days.
The move comes amid rising COVID-19 case rates and low vaccination levels in both countries. Flights from Thailand’s Phuket will also be impacted by the update.
Green List Gets a Boost: Switzerland, Denmark, Canada
In better news, Switzerland, Denmark, and Canada have been promoted to the UK’s coveted green list. Travellers arriving from these destinations will no longer face quarantine, whether vaccinated or not.
