Men In Still In Serious Condition After Andover Crash

Roads Policing Officers  from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police are appealing for witnesses after two men were seriously injured in a collision on the road near Picket Twenty. It involved a blue Hyundai i20, a dark coloured Ford Transit van and a blue Renault articulated lorry. Two occupants of the Hyundai car, which was travelling northbound towards Andover, were seriously injured in the collision. The driver, a 27-year-old man from Andover, was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition. His passenger, a 48-year-old man from Basingstoke, was taken to the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital with serious injuries but has since been discharged. The occupants of the Ford Transit van, which was also travelling northbound, and the lorry, which was travelling southbound, were not injured in the collision. Two men aged 47-year-old  and 49-year-old have been arrested in connection with this collision and released on bail until April 27. Investigating officer PC Paul White said: “I’d like to speak to anyone who saw any of the three vehicles prior to or at the time of the collision. “This collision occurred on a busy stretch of road during the rush hour and it is likely that a number of people would have seen it.” Anyone with information on the collision is urged to contact PC White at the Roads Policing Unit at Whitchurch on 101, quoting 44160088272.
