Fire Crews Take the Lion Share from the Dragon in UKRO Competition

Firefighters from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service put their skills and expertise to the test at a regional competition this weekend against  professional firefighters from across the UK in the disciplines of Vehicle Extrication. The team of six travelled to the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service to take part in the United Kingdom Rescue Organisation (UKRO) regional competition  held on Saturday, May 23. The crew competed against teams from eight other fire and rescue services showcasing their skills in rescuing people trapped in  vehicles. The teams competed in a 20 minute, two car, single casualty scenario using a standard set of rescue tools to free the casualty whilst under the watchful eye of assessors.
