Man Jailed for 12 Years after Sex offences against children in Gosport
A man has been jailed for a number of sexual offences against two children. Edwin Gallienne, 75, of Bury Hall Lane, Gosport, pleaded guilty to a total of 18 sexual offences against the victims over a number of years, including rape. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison at Portsmouth Crown Court on Thursday, August 11. Detective Constable Marie Duffy said: “Edwin Gallienne took advantage of these young children for his own sexual gratification. “I would like to thank the victims’ for having the courage to come forward about these horrendous crimes and hope that today’s sentence will help give them some closure, so that they can move on with her lives. “It is because of the victims’ courage that the offender now faces a long prison sentence; because of his age, he could possibly spend the rest of his life behind bars. “This sentence serves as a reminder of the seriousness of these offences.
