Man in Custody as Police Probe Rape Claim of Young Girl on the Isle of Wight

Police have launched an investigation and a man remains in custody on the Isle of Wight this evening. The man is being questioned by Police over an alleged rape Officers on the ground called on the support of the National Police Air Service helicopter from Bournemouth. Man In Custody As Police Probe Rape Claim Of Young Girl On The Isle Of Wight After a lengthy search of various parts of the Island a man was detained by Police and taken to Newport Police station for questioning. The probe and search were launched after a dog walker discovered a young girl in a distressed state. It is alleged that she had been raped in a remote location near the sea on the Isle of Wight. Detectives on the Isle of Wight are appealing for witnesses following a serious sexual assault in Niton yesterday (Fri, Oct 7)  We believe an 18-year-old woman got into a red van in Sandown High Street at around 9am. She was then driven to the end of the Old Blackgang Road and subjected to a serious sexual assault.  A 35-year-old man is currently in police custody in connection with the incident.  Can you help?
