Police Hunt White Van man after Hit and Run in Portsmouth

Police are appealing for help to trace a van driver who failed to stop following a collision with a cyclist in Portsmouth. Officers were called to Copnor Road, at the junction with New Road, following a collision involving a white van and a 62-year-old cyclist, between 7.20pm and 7.45pm on November 3. The female cyclist came off her bike and was left lying in the road but the van failed to stop at the scene. The cyclist suffered cuts and bruising and was treated at the scene by paramedics. PC Michael Batten said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed this collision or who saw a white van in the area around the time. “The cyclist was lucky not to have sustained more serious injuries, so if you know who the driver of this van was, please get in touch.” Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Batten on 101, quoting 44160416311, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
