Police Hunt White Ford Transit After Hit-and-Run Near Fordingbridge
Officers have launched a fresh appeal to find a white Ford Transit flatbed van involved in a serious hit-and-run on the A338 near Fordingbridge.
Cyclist Left Critically Injured
The crash happened at 9.20am yesterday on the northbound carriageway of Salisbury Road. A 70-year-old cyclist from Salisbury suffered severe head injuries and remains in a life-threatening condition at Southampton General Hospital.
Mass Vehicle Checks Underway
Police stopped over 300 vehicles on both sides of the A338 this morning, handing out leaflets with details of the sought vehicle. Despite hitting the cyclist, the flatbed Transit sped off without stopping – and cops are desperate to track it down.
