Five Vehicle Collision on the M27 Westbound Closes Motorway

A collision involving five vehicles has closed the Westbound carriage of the M27 between Hedge End and Eastleigh/Southampton Airport this morning The M27 westbound has been closed at junction five for Stoneham Way following the crash, which happened at about 7am. Emergency Services and recovery contractors supported by Highways England are at the scene. Driver are reporting up to an hour delays on the westbound with many trapped whilst the clear up operation takes place. There are currently long delays on the westbound carriageway, with early morning traffic queueing as far back as junction 9, near Whiteley. It is not known if anyone has been hurt in the Collision involving five vehicles that ploughed into each other.
