Man left with facial injuries after street Robbery in Southsea

Police are appealing for information following a robbery in Southsea. At some time between 3am and 3.20am on Monday, December 19 the 31-year-old victim was followed along Albert Road by a group of three men. As he reached the junction of Chelsea Road and Albert Road one of the men assaulted him. His Nokia mobile phone and his baseball cap were then stolen. The victim suffered extensive bruising around his eyes as a result of the attack. The offenders are described as: Man one: black, aged in his mid 40s, 5ft 5ins, of chubby build, with shoulder length black dreadlocks and wearing a thick blue winter coat with white stripes on the sleeves Man two: white, aged in his late 40s, around 6ft, of medium build, with short hair, wearing a grey jumper Man three: white, aged in his mid 40s, 5ft 6ins, of medium build, with short hair, wearing a blue jumper Detective Constable Charlies Cox, said: “Although this incident happened in the early hours of the morning, there were still quite a lot of people and traffic in the area of Alert Road. I would like to speak to anyone who might have witnessed the attack on the victim who was wearing a white baseball cap with a logo on the front, or anyone who may have seen or found the baseball cap or Nokia phone since. “I would urge anyone with information to come and speak to us as soon as possible.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Hampshire police on 101
