Firefighters Rush to Luscinia View Blaze in Central Reading
Fire crews from four stations slammed into action this morning after a blaze broke out in a block of flats on Luscinia View, Reading.
Massive Police Cordon in Place
Police quickly threw up a vast cordon, sealing off the block as emergency services battled the fire. One firefighter was rushed to hospital with injuries.
Four Fire Engines Tackled Ground Floor Fire
- Crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road, Dee Road, and Whitley Wood fire stations responded promptly.
- The alarm was raised around 9:30am.
- Firefighters entered the ground floor flat wearing breathing apparatus.
- They isolated gas and electricity supplies to the property to prevent further danger.
- One jet and a high-pressure hose reel were used to douse the flames in flat number 12.
Search Underway, Scene Locked Down
A thorough search of the property was conducted, though it’s unclear whether anyone else was found inside.
