Driver arrested after crashing Van into Havant Subway

A driver escaped serious injury after his Ford Ivceo ploughed into a subway in the early hours of this morning. Emergency services attended the scene at Petersfield Road junction with Stockheath Road in Havant just after 6am. A male believed to be the driver was detained at the scene and arrested by officers from Hampshire Road Policing based at Havant for a number of offences. The man is currently in custody at Portsmouth central police station awaiting interview by officers no one else is believed to have been involved in the incident. The vehicle has since been recovered by specialist from Boarhunt Recovery.
