20-Year-Old Dies After Brutal Attack at Cobham Services – Murder Probe Launched
Surrey Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of a 20-year-old man assaulted at Cobham Services on the M25.
Violent Brawl at Busy M25 Petrol Station
Officers rushed to Cobham Services, located between junctions 9 and 10 of the M25, at 3.15pm on Monday 26 June after reports of a fight breaking out between two groups who knew each other.
The victim suffered serious head injuries during the attack by two men. He was airlifted to St George’s Hospital but sadly died earlier today.
Suspects Flee Scene in White Van – Police Seek Witnesses
The attackers fled in a white Peugeot Partner Van (registration NX63 VLP), complete with a roof rack and ladder. The van was found abandoned in Chessington and seized by police.
Detective Chief Inspector Jo Hayes urged anyone at the petrol station between 3pm and 3.30pm on June 26 to come forward. She said:
“This was a horrifying attack at a busy petrol station on the M25. We believe many witnessed the incident but have yet to speak to police.”
“We especially want to hear from a man seen in military or camouflage gear inside the store. Also, anyone who filmed the fight or drove onto the forecourt – your dashcam footage could be vital.”
Police Hunt Crucial Footage and Witnesses
- Anyone who saw the van between 3.30pm on June 26 and 10am today is urged to contact police immediately.
- Officers want to track the van’s movements and identify the driver.
- Witnesses with mobile phone footage of the fight or aftermath could hold key evidence.
