Southsea Cafe hit in latest Crime Wave

A Southsa café, and a neighbouring curry house, have become the latest victims of an escalating crime wave in the area. Cinnamon Coffee Southsea and the Curry Leaf, both in Winter Road, were burgled last night, leaving the owners to clear-up the damage. The door of the café was smashed clean-off its hinges whilst the neighbouring curry house had its till ransacked and charity boxes snatched. “Last night Cinnamon Cafe was broken into and the door smashed through by some scumbags,” the owners tell us. “Just to make you all aware we will be shut this Tuesday while police check things over and we get a new door fitted. Hoping to re-open Wednesday for business as normal!” owner Ben Brades added. Over 50 businesses have been targeted in late night robberies in recent months with Portsmouth police seemingly impotent to deal with the problem. Anybody with any information, or who may have been in the area at the time, is asked to call police on 101.
