Chip Pan Fire breaks out in Retail Premises Kitchen in Titchfield

Breaking: Fire crews from Portchester, Fareham Hightown and an aerial ladder from Southsea are currently dealing with a fire at a Mill in Titchfield. Fire crews where called just after 9am and remain at the incident involving a deep fat fryer in the kitchen. Watch manager Ian Cambridge, from Fareham station, said the crews extinguished the chip pan fire in the kitchen. Due to quick intervention by crews damaged was contained to the kitchen. Mr Cambridge said: ‘It was isolated to the kitchen and the rest of the pub was fine. ‘It was in the kitchen on the range.’ Crews finished the job at around 10am. The pub, originally a water mill, dates back to 1779 and became an inn in 1939.
