Emergency Teams Scramble to Find Missing Paraglider

A major search is underway tonight off the West Wight coast after reports that a paraglider may have crashed into the sea. A member of the public spotted a silver and blue object falling from the sky into the bay near Totland Pier, sparking a huge rescue operation.

All Weather Lifeboat and Coastguard Join the Hunt

The Yarmouth all-weather lifeboat was immediately dispatched to scour the waters. Meanwhile, a coastguard search and rescue team from Needles has been combing the area to locate the missing glider and its pilot.

Mysterious Objects Found, Search Continues

The lifeboat deployed a tender to retrieve some items recovered by a nearby vessel. So far, these appear to be birthday balloons, but the search for the paraglider and any survivors is ongoing. Authorities have vowed to keep the public updated as more details emerge.
