Man Brutally Attacked with Glass Bottle in Newbury

Thames Valley Police are hunting witnesses after a shocking late-night assault in Newbury.

Attack Happens Near Hogan Music Shop

Just after 2.30am on Thursday, July 5, a 54-year-old man was walking along Bartholomew Street towards the town centre when he was ambushed.

He was hit from behind with a glass bottle near the Hogan Music shop. The blow knocked him unconscious and he collapsed to the ground.

Victim Treated After Brutal Assault

The attacker then casually walked away. The victim needed stitches to his face and was treated at North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke before being discharged.

Police Appeal for Crucial Witnesses

PC Laura Harrhy from Newbury police station said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward, as they may have information vital to our investigation. The victim has been left shaken and requiring hospital treatment following this cowardly attack.”
