Parliament Square has reopened following the conclusion of the ‘Welcome Trump’ and ‘Free Tommy Robinson’ processions
A small demonstration did continue at the top of Whitehall at the junction with Trafalgar Square and roads in the area were blocked for a short period of time. This demonstration is now dispersing and it is expected the road network will return to normal operation shortly. Assistant General Secretary of the RMT Union Steve Hedley has been attacked this afternoon A total of 12 people have been arrested for the following: One woman was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder; Two men were arrested on suspicion of public order offences; One man was arrested on suspicion of fireworks offences. Eight men were arrested on suspicion of assault at Storey’s Gate, Westminster. They have all been taken to a Central London police station.
