£3,000 Stolen from Elderly Man in Winchester – Police Release CCTV Snaps
Hampshire cops are hunting two men after a 74-year-old was robbed of £3,000 in Winchester on 5 July. The victim had just withdrawn the cash from Nationwide, keeping the money in an envelope in his pocket.
Pickpocket Caught Red-Handed – Stole Cash Right from Victim’s Pocket
The elderly man was browsing outside Donna Laine Jewellers around 3pm when one of the suspects cleverly covered his shoulder with a jacket. From underneath, he slipped a hand into the man’s pocket and snagged the envelope.
The pair also tried to distract the victim with conversation during the theft, showing clear intent and planning.
Police Release Descriptions, Urge Public to Help
- Male One: White, 25-35 years, stocky build, short dark hair with receding hairline. Wearing jeans, dark polo shirt, full beard, sunglasses on head, carrying blue bag.
- Male Two: White, 25-35 years, stocky, light brown thinning/receding hair. Wearing light-blue button shirt, jeans, brown shoes, carrying black bag.
Officers want anyone who saw this or recognises the men from the CCTV shots or descriptions to come forward.
