Arson Alert: Porch Fire Sparks Major Damage in Portland Home
Blaze Rips Through Portland House
A suspicious fire tore through a Portland home early Sunday morning, Dorset Police revealed. At around 6am on 12 August, emergency services were called to a property in Hamcroft, Easton after flames broke out in the porch.
The fire quickly spread, causing serious damage to the lounge and its contents before firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze. Luckily, a woman inside escaped unharmed.
Police Hunt Witnesses After Suspected Arson
Detective Constable Andy Marsh from Weymouth CID said the fire is believed to be deliberate. He urged locals to come forward with any information.
“We suspect this was an arson and I am appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious around the time of the incident to get in touch. If you have any information that could assist with the investigation, please contact Dorset Police or call Crimestoppers anonymously.
