Police appeal following Herne Bay Assault

Kent Police is appealing for witnesses after a report of an assault in Herne Bay. The assault is reported to have taken place in the driveway of a house in Grange Road between 11.10pm and 11.21pm on Friday 17 August. The victim, a man in his 40s from Herne Bay, was taken to a London hospital following the assault. His condition is said to be stable. He had driven onto the driveway when he was assaulted by three men who are believed to have been travelling behind him in two small, hatchback cars. The men are described as white and in their late 20s. One was 6ft 2ins tall and thickset and was wearing dark clothes with a hood up. Another was described as 5ft 9ins tall, had brown hair and was wearing a light-coloured top. DI Sheena Barrell said: ‘We believe that this was an isolated incident with no connection to the location and enquiries to establish the circumstances are ongoing. ‘We ask anyone with information about the assault to contact us on 01843 222289 quoting reference ZY/48586/18.’ Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers in Kent anonymously on 0800 555111.
