Driver gets caught out by the weather on the downs in Brading

A young driver had to be rescued after her car was standed in mid 15 foot away from the edge of the downs on Tuesday evening. The teenagers from Ryde had spent the evening on the down when a strong band of rain caught them by surprise Their Renualt Clio got stuck in the mud and wasn’t going any further. The girls mum issued a plea on social media asking for help. A passing taxi driver waved down an other vehicle to help aid the pair after the car park area became a no go zone. Low fog is also making conditions on the down very dangerous with Viability done to 10 metres in places. The rain hit the island just after 9pm and is set to continue through out the night.
