Teen Driver Stranded 15ft From Edge of Downs in Muddy Mess
A young driver got stuck in the mud just 15 feet from the edge of the downs on Tuesday evening. The teenage girl from Ryde had been enjoying the evening on the down when a sudden heavy downpour caught her off guard. Her Renault Clio soon became bogged down and refused to budge.
Desperate SOS on Social Media
The mum, desperate for help, took to social media with a plea to get her and her car out of trouble. Luckily, a passing taxi driver spotted the situation and flagged down another vehicle to assist after the nearby car park quickly turned into a no-go zone due to the weather.
Low Fog Cuts Visibility to Just 10 Metres
Adding to the drama, thick fog rolled into the area after 9pm, slashing visibility to as low as 10 metres in spots. The fog is expected to stick around through the night, making conditions on the downs extremely hazardous for late-night drivers and walkers alike.
