Two Men Jailed for Life Over Brutal Hillingdon Murder
Two men were hauled before the Old Bailey and sentenced to life for the cold-blooded murder of 22-year-old Hashim Abdalla Ali in Hillingdon last October.
Philip Babatunde Fashakin, 26, and Juskiran Sidhu, 28, were both handed life sentences on Tuesday, 14 May, with a minimum of 30 years behind bars.
Attack Caught on CCTV
The court heard that on 11 October 2018, Mr Ali was a passenger in a black Mercedes when the killers struck. At 2.30pm, the car had just pulled up on Central Avenue, Hayes, when Fashakin and Sidhu opened fire, shooting Mr Ali through the passenger window.
The driver sped off to try and save Mr Ali but crashed into parked cars on West Drayton Road. A passing ambulance stopped to help, but sadly, Mr Ali was pronounced dead at the scene.
Planning and Cover-Up Exposed
- CCTV footage from 9 October showed Fashakin renting a dark grey Volkswagen from Reading.
- The same car arrived and left Central Avenue one minute either side of the shooting.
- Later, both were captured dumping their bloodied clothes and buying new SIM cards to evade detection.
Sidhu was arrested at a Birmingham hotel using a fake ID on 30 October. Fashakin was caught a week later at another Birmingham location. Both denied murder but were remanded in custody.
Police React to Life Sentences
“Fashakin and Sidhu carried out a brutal attack which led to a young man losing his life at the side of the road,” said Detective Chief Inspector Garry Moncrieff.
“They will now have a significant amount of time to reflect on their actions and we hope these lengthy sentences bring some closure for Mr Ali’s family.”
