Pensioner critical after drink driver ploughs into him in Wandsworth

Police investigating a serious road traffic collision in Wandsworth are appealing for witnesses. Officers were called at 1.30pm on Tuesday, 4 June to a collision involving a grey Peugeot 307 and a pedestrian at the junction of McDermott Close and Ingrave Street, SW11. The pedestrian, a man aged in his 80’s, was taken to a south London hospital suffering serious injuries and remains there in a critical condition. His next of kin have been informed. The driver of the car, a woman aged in her 40s, stopped at the scene and was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance. She has since been released under investigation.
